IMM # 18 - Back from Blogvacation

Hi, I'm back from my little blogvacation due to Easter-holidays and crazy-times at uni. It's been a slow two book-weeks, what with there having been so many bank-holidays -> no books being delivered :/.
All links go, as always, to Goodreads

Along Came a Stork - Marisa Mackle
The Perfect Hero - Victoria Connelly; I've said it before, I can't resist anything Jane Austen!
Meet Me at the Cupcake Café - Jenny Colgan; Colgan is a long time favourite of mine!

Abandon - Meg Cabot, the cover is soooo breathtaking in IRL!

Kindle-Books
Keeping the Moon -Sarah Dessen
This Lullaby - Sarah Dessen
Endless Summer - Jennifer Echols
Any Man of Mine - Rachel Gibson

My Best of 2010

Well, I'm late with this, as usual. I had great plans for this post, had it all mapped out in my head, it was going to be awesome. But time got the best of me so this will have to do.

According to my Goodreads account I've read 105 books in 2010 and 14 books that I've started but not finished. As I've joined Goodreads in June I can't be sure that I remembered all the books I read before that and of course, all my rereads and books for my university-studies aren't counted in that number. Anyway, it's still a pretty high number and deciding which books I liked best in 2010 was really hard.

Here are a few of my favourites, without any particular order, the links provided are to my reviews (if there's one)

Lovely Summer Beach Reads ( or warming reads for snowy days...)
Living La Vida Loca - Belinda Jones
About Time - Niamh Shaw
Swimming with Dolphins - Deborah Wright
Katy Carter Wants A Hero - Ruth Saberton
Single in the City - Michele Gorman

The Year of 2010 was also the Year where I discovered contemporary YA

Boys, Bears, and A Serious Pair of Hiking Boots - Abby McDonald
The Duff - Kody Keplinger
Anna and The French Kiss - Stephanie Perkins
Psych Major Syndrome - Alicia Thompson
North of Beautiful - Justina Chen Headley
Going to Far - Jennifer Echols

My Favourite Series
The Iron Fey
The Iron King - Julie Kagawa
The Iron Daughter - Julie Kagawa
I can't wait for the third, the waiting is excruciating!

Two very heavy hardbacks that are sooo worth the pain in my wrists (from holding them while reading) and back (from carrying them around with me all the time)

Getting Away With It - Julie Cohen
Becoming Scarlett - Ciara Geraghty

Hilariously Funny Books - oh the Joy of reading these books, couldn't stop giggling, perfect!

Hello, Heartbreak - Amy Huberman
A Girl Like You - Gemma Burgess ----(Review to come SOON!)
The Dating Detox - Gemma Burgess
There's Cake in my Future - Kim Gruenenfelder  (Review to come SOON!)

Review # 3 -' Forget You' by Jennifer Echols

There is something magical with books like these. I haven't quite figured out yet what it is. Fact is that I liked the emotions  Forget You evoked in me so much that I found myself reading slower and slower towards the end. When I'd reached the final page, closed the book, it felt like a break-up, it hurt. I haven't been able to start a new book since then (But don't worry, I'll force myself to jump right back in later today).
Anyway, Forget You is about control. Forcing control where you can't have control. Control situations you can't control. And people and situations that control you that you want to be free of. And it is about forgetting on various different levels. Trying to forget what you can't forget and forgetting what you so desperately want to remember.

I loved Jennifer Echols' previous book Going Too Far, I can't decide which one I liked more.
This is a really precious book for me, so check it out if you long to feel like a teenager again.

Requesting Reviews #1

I've been very very quiet these past few weeks. Too quiet! It seems I have lost all my followers :(
Anyway, on Tuesday is my last day of uni before the big summer break. So Wednesday will be the first day of 3 months of lots of time, time for books and reading. Lots of reviews! I thought I could start of with asking you, what reviews do you want, which of my many books I've read recently are you most curious about?

I've never received any books for free, never got any books for review, so my reviews are my opinions and mine alone. ( If you want to send me books for review you are free to do that of course :P )
You've probably seen under my feature ' Just Arrived' which books I've bought recently, so that should give you an idea...
But anyway...send your request for reviews..I'll start writing them on wednesday the latest ( maybe even sooner).
Send your requests as a comment on this post or to: queen_nreading@yahoo.de

Here are some of the books I've read recently (but, really!!, not all of them!), just a small sample!!
About Time -Niamh Shaw
Twenty Times a Lady - Karyn Bosnak
Sophomore Switch - Abby McDonald
Boys, Bears and a serious Pair of Hiking Boots - Abby McDonald
Going to Far - Jennifer Echols
Perfect Chemistry - Simone Elkeles
How to Knit a Love Song - Rachael Herron
Accidental IT Girl - Libby Street

Update

First of all I'd like to apologize for not updating this blog as often as I'd like to. I especially regret the lack of reviews posted here lately. The way I prioritize in my daily life, the reviews often come on second or third or fourth or whatever place. With uni and having finals I rather spend my free-time reading than writing reviews. But soon the big summer-break will be here (only 3 more weeks to go, yay!) and then I'll definitely have some time over for writing reviews, and believe me, I've read a lot of books lately.

These past 3 days I've read more books than I can count (yes, math isn't my strength..haha), anyway I've read, amongst others, Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols and I really really loved it, what a book! Yesterday afternoon I read Sophomore Switch by Abby McDonald and I really enjoyed it, but I liked her new one, Boys Bears and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots better. And finally, I have to confess, my resolve broke down and I started reading About Time by Niamh Shaw last night, I seriously couldn't wait longer ( I wanted to read it on the beach, or on the balcony in the sun this summer)...well, I didn't get much sleep last night...so far I love it!

Anyway, full length reviews will be posted soon!
Happy reading!

Just Arrived #7 Yay it's finally here :D

Yay, it has finally arrived! Was about Ime !! Lol. From being "first" last time to being "last", at least it feels like it. Anyway, I haven't quite decided yet if I'm going to devour it immediately or if I'm going to wait and cherish it...difficult decision..haha

Along with About Time by Niamh Shaw a few other books have arrived too

Now there's only one book left that hasn't arrived yet...
