My Best of 2010

Well, I'm late with this, as usual. I had great plans for this post, had it all mapped out in my head, it was going to be awesome. But time got the best of me so this will have to do.

According to my Goodreads account I've read 105 books in 2010 and 14 books that I've started but not finished. As I've joined Goodreads in June I can't be sure that I remembered all the books I read before that and of course, all my rereads and books for my university-studies aren't counted in that number. Anyway, it's still a pretty high number and deciding which books I liked best in 2010 was really hard.

I've never any idea what to write in here :S

I've just finished Hello, Heartbreak by Amy Huberman.


It's my first book back since reading The Dating-Detox which I really really loved. Anyway, I didn't have much time to read these past few weeks anyway, what with my Mum visiting, Uni being very demanding and the weather being really depressing (don't ask what that's to do with reading, I don't know either!). Anyway, yesterday evening I've had enough and picked up the book on top of my pile, it happened to be Hello, Heartbreak. Lets face it, I'm not good at giving reviews, maybe it has to do with me being shy, or being too self-conscious, who knows. But I liked it. If you like a funny, likeable heroine, good writing, a hot hunk and hilarious scenes I'd recommend to pick it up :) It even left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling (or it could have been the chocolate with the glass of red wine).

Here's my favourite laugh: "I sincerely hoped he knew I was joking about the dawn jog. People who sacrificed an extra hour in bed to run around in the dark wearing Lycra were obviously in a weird cult and should be avoided at all costs." (Hello, Heartbreak by Amy Huberman, p. 183.)

Stockholm

Was in Stockholm today. Had a very boring assignment which basically entailed me sitting in the library all day, watching people. In the end I had to go..just go...far far away..I think people started to realise that I was stalking them.

I was supposed to meet an old friend from back home who is studying in Stockholm right now, but sometime during the afternoon he let me know that he couldn't make it. Pity.

I decided to venture into the city, despite it being very cold, snowing, and my bag weighing several tons! (I had one book to read, currently reading Hello, Heartbreak by Amy Huberman, three books to read for school and my laptop in that bag). Anyway, I went into the big book store, and despite feeling a lot of pain in my back, sweating ( warm clothes and stores don't go together very well) and being hungry, I managed to find two books. Shame that I didn't have the energy to stay longer..imagine what gems I would have found then....

So, now I'm back home again..studystudystudy..Lots to do this week...
