Hello everybody!

I'm really sorry that I have been a very very bad girl. I let you all down. I'm sorry.
The weather has been really great here this past week, quite surprising with here being Sweden. After the horrible long and very cold winter we had, I  now spent all my free-time  outside, I've been starving for sun. And I really enjoy the fact that I don't have to turn on my computer. I feel free. Sure, I check in on emails and the latest news via my iPhone, but  I don't have to write back. An amazing feeling :)
Anyway, since it looks like I've lost most of my readers and the fact that I really hate writing reviews other than "I really really loved this book" I've decided to give you a quick run down on the books I suggested for review in my 'Requesting Reviews #1' and I'll start giving better and longer reviews with books I'm more up to date with..given the fact that it is been a while since I've read the suggested books. Anyway..here they are:

About Time by Niamh Shaw
Remember me talking about feelings in Me and reading? The feeling of this book is still present in my body. I have no idea what makes this book so special. Sure, I've been looking forward to it, a lot, after reading Smart Casual and her blog but that doesn't explain why the feeling hasn't faded away yet. I think this book is different from the other Little Black Dress Books. It stars a heroine, Lara, who really shouldn't be likeable. She is flighty, seems  to be superficial, blames everyone else but herself, repressing her true feelings, repressing her past. But believe me, you'll fall in love with her, just like everyone else in the book. She is super funny and you can't help but wanting to help her, being afraid of where she is headed, which mistakes she is making and about to make.
Normally I don't like flashbacks in book, I always get the feeling *get on with the story!! I want to know what happens NOW!!* and I'm embarrassed to tell you that I usually fast forward until the present time. Anyway, if I'd have done this with this book, I would have to fast forward until the very end, and I would have missed the beautiful story inside.
The third thing different about this book is that it is told from two different points of view. It isn't only Lara who tells the story, but also Conn. And Niamh Shaw is really doing a great job telling the story from a guy's eyes. I started to think and act like a guy, seriously, even my friends remarked on it. Haha. Anyway, Conn is a really big geek, nerd whatever, with difficulties in a social context. Lara is the opposite.
Bottom line is that I really liked this book, I was sad when it was finished, I wanted to continue reading. It is really hilarious at some points, I laughed a lot and  my favourite scene involves a romance novel :).
Throughout the book I felt like I was in the 80's, no idea why, I always got surprised when a cell-phone or computer got mentioned..haha.


Oh, well, my review's longer than I thought it would be...I'll post the others soon..(I hope)

Requesting Reviews #1

I've been very very quiet these past few weeks. Too quiet! It seems I have lost all my followers :(
Anyway, on Tuesday is my last day of uni before the big summer break. So Wednesday will be the first day of 3 months of lots of time, time for books and reading. Lots of reviews! I thought I could start of with asking you, what reviews do you want, which of my many books I've read recently are you most curious about?

I've never received any books for free, never got any books for review, so my reviews are my opinions and mine alone. ( If you want to send me books for review you are free to do that of course :P )
You've probably seen under my feature ' Just Arrived' which books I've bought recently, so that should give you an idea...
But anyway...send your request for reviews..I'll start writing them on wednesday the latest ( maybe even sooner).

Stockholm

I was in Stockholm yesterday, mainly because of an intern-ship in a library.
Of course I couldn't ignore the opportunity of visiting my favourite book-store which boasts of having the biggest "pocket book section" in Scandinavia (Norden).I'm not sure I believe that. Not sure at all. Anyway, their selection of English books is quite small, and most of them I already own. Anyway, I managed to find these two books:

I got home late, but I finished About Time by Niamh Shaw before falling asleep. Expect a review soon (that will be a very very very difficult review for me to write!)

Update

First of all I'd like to apologize for not updating this blog as often as I'd like to. I especially regret the lack of reviews posted here lately. The way I prioritize in my daily life, the reviews often come on second or third or fourth or whatever place. With uni and having finals I rather spend my free-time reading than writing reviews. But soon the big summer-break will be here (only 3 more weeks to go, yay!) and then I'll definitely have some time over for writing reviews, and believe me, I've read a lot of books lately.

These past 3 days I've read more books than I can count (yes, math isn't my strength..haha), anyway I've read, amongst others, Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols and I really really loved it, what a book! Yesterday afternoon I read Sophomore Switch by Abby McDonald and I really enjoyed it, but I liked her new one, Boys Bears and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots better. And finally, I have to confess, my resolve broke down and I started reading About Time by Niamh Shaw last night, I seriously couldn't wait longer ( I wanted to read it on the beach, or on the balcony in the sun this summer)...well, I didn't get much sleep last night...so far I love it!

Just Arrived #7 Yay it's finally here :D

Yay, it has finally arrived! Was about Ime !! Lol. From being "first" last time to being "last", at least it feels like it. Anyway, I haven't quite decided yet if I'm going to devour it immediately or if I'm going to wait and cherish it...difficult decision..haha

Along with About Time by Niamh Shaw a few other books have arrived too

Now there's only one book left that hasn't arrived yet...

The Illusion of Progress

Everybody expects me to break, but I'll never break down again...

Jag vaknade idag med världens största huvud, alldeles för stor för att passa igenom dörröppningen. Tur att jag även vaknade med världens tyngsta huvud, vilket jobb det var att lyfta upp det från kudden.
Jag vet inte än hur denna dag ska utveckla sig. Solen skiner. Jag vill gå ut. Jag behöver sol och syre! Men just nu är det jobbigt att gå härifrån till köket. Te eller kaffe?

Jag fick hem Marian Keyes nya bok igår. Tveksamt om jag kommer att läsa den. Jag har slutat läsa hennes böcker för några år/böcker sedan. Men hon står ju på min inköpslista. Jag har en annan författare som jag köper varje bok av, men jag har inte läst de senaste 5 böckerna. Vad gör man när en författare plötsligt byter stil, ändrar reglerna?

:D Liza Palmers nya bok: A Field Guide to Burying Your Parents gick att beställa igår, vill att den ska skickas idag. LÄNGTAR!!!

Till sist, jag bara älskar Niamh Shaw's blogg, hon är den roligaste människan jag vet, dagens inlägg fick mig att skratta tårar. Me = Crazy Person!

Chick-lit, my favorites

Well, I read a lot, and it's mostly chick-lit I read, so I thought I start off with a list of my favorite chick-lit books. Because I don't read just any book, I really don't. And I don't read the typical chick-lit. I hate everything that has to do with shopping, make-up and shoes! Shoes in particular. I hate shoes (oops, maybe I shouldn't out myself like that). And I don't particular care for books with titles such as "A Singles Guide to...", and I really don't want to read about women working at glossy magazines and so on. So, even though I'm a girl and read chick-lit, I'm not so girly after all.
Books I read have to have something, that difficult to define it, most of the time it's something that is personal to me, and other readers just don't understand why I liked a particular book, because for them there was nothing special about it.
I like reading as an entertainment on lazy afternoons when there's nothing much to do. I like to read on a break from my studies, to get my mind to think about something else. I use reading when I'm angry or sad, because all my negative emotions disappear when I read, and I use reading when I'm happy because reading just makes all my positive emotions so much stronger.

Reading for me is a constant quest for that special feeling in my stomach/heart, some call it butterflies, but I'm not sure if it is that what it is, but it certainly makes life worth living!!!

It's difficult for me to say just exactly why I like a certain book, sometimes it has nothing to do with the book or the plot, but with how the book makes me feel!

My favorite chick-lit books: (Without any particular order!!!)

1. Conversations With The Fat Girl - Liza Palmer This is a favorite, not because of the weight issue but because Liza Palmer is an exceptionally good writer. I wasn't a fan of the "I" style before this book, but now I just can't get enough of it. I love the suspense I get when I don't know what everyone else is thinking, when I know exactly as much as the main-person in the book. When the author isn't playing God, and when you don't read phrases like " She didn't know that this wasn't the worst thing happening to her this day, more was to come..."
2. Be Careful What You Wish For - Alexandra Potter Well, the title says it all. The book really makes you start thinking about the small and big things in everyday-life. Wonderfully written.
3. Life's too Short to Frost a Cupcake - Rosie Wilde
   
4. Out Of The Blue - Belinda Jones Perfect Summer Read! You can litterally smell the ocean!
5. English As A Second Language - Megan Crane There's a lot of drinking in this book, which could cause a problem for some readers, but it's about college/graduate school, and which student doesn't drink?
   
6. Best Day Of Someone Else's Life - Kerry Reichs It's about weddings, a lot of them, which's normally not my thing, too girly. But this is a smart book, very entertaining, many deep insights, it has everything I look for in a book!!
7. One Night Stand - Julie Cohen
8. Flirting in Cars - Alisa Kwitney It was a warm sunny day, when I was reading this book on the balcony. I got so immersed in the story that when I finally was interrupted several hours later, I was very red and sun-burnt.
   
9. The Nearly-Weds - Jane Costello
10. Desperately Seeking - Evelyn Cosgrave
11. Playing James - Sarah Mason
12. The Nanny - Melissa Nathan
13. The Boy I Loved Before - Jenny Colgan
14. I Heart New York - Lindsey Kelk I actually didn't care much for the plot. It has too much shopping, too many clothes and make-up and a few fairy-taily things in it, but the writing, the writing is wonderful! Once picked up, I couldn't put it down again, the emotions were so real. Heavenly :)
